Harry Kane honoured by Tottenham as mural unveiled after Ballon d'Or victory

Spurs legend was named world’s best player on Monday
Tottenham have commemorated Harry Kane’s Ballon d’Or win with a digital mural of their former captain at the club’s training ground.
Kane became the first Englishman in 25 years to claim the Ballon d’Or on Monday night, beating competition from Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe.
Collecting the award at the London Palladium, Kane credited Spurs in his acceptance speech for the role they played in shaping his career.
"I want to say thank you to Tottenham Hotspur, as well. I wouldn't be where I am today without Tottenham, for sure," Kane said.
"I was there from 11 years old. [With] all the guidance, the coaches, you allowed me to live my dream. So, for sure, without all those moments together, all the ups and down along the way of that journey has led me to this moment here today. So I just want to say thank you to Tottenham Hotspur."
Despite leaving Spurs three years ago, Kane’s affinity to the club has not waned, and they have commemorated his Ballon d’Or win with a picture of him under the words “One of our own” in the media centre at Hotspur Way.
Kane joined Spurs at the age of 11 and went on to score 280 goals in 435 appearances for the north London club before joining Bayern Munich in 2023.
The 33-year-old, who captained England to the World Cup semi-finals this summer, has gone from strength to strength since signing for Bayern and enjoyed a stellar campaign last season, netting 73 goals in all competitions for club and country.
