Liverpool XI vs Brighton: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and injury latest for Premier League

Arne Slot must decide whether to play Trent Alexander-Arnold on the south coast after Anfield boos

Liverpool travel to Brighton on Monday night as they look to finish their season with a flourish.

Arne Slot’s side, who sealed the Premier League title with a 5-1 win over Tottenham last month, take on the Seagulls in their penultimate fixture of the campaign.

The Reds have had a slight dip since their title win, slipping to a 3-1 defeat by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge before surrendering a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Arsenal last weekend.

Liverpool now cannot eclipse 90 points this term but they will reach 89 should they win their remaining two matches this term.

Talisman Mohamed Salah is on course to win the Premier League Golden Boot award for a fourth time, with the Egyptian sat on 28 for the season, five clear of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak on 23.

Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton are unbeaten in their last three games, securing a 2-0 win over Wolves at Molineux in the most recent outing.

They drew 1-1 with Newcastle the week before, and Carlos Baleba’s wondergoal gave them a superb comeback victory over their former manager Graham Potter and West Ham.

On the injury front, Liverpool seem to be unscathed, though Joe Gomez is unlikely to feature.

Slot said previously that the England defender may be able to play in the final two games of the season after hamstring surgery, but only if his recovery went well. As for Brighton, they are more plagued with absentees.

Hurzeler revealed that winger Solly March, who has hardly played this term, is out for the season with the same knee injury.

Lewis Dunk and Jan Paul van Hecke are in contention, according to the German, after they returned to training this week, along with Adam Webster and Igor, to give Hurzeler a full complement of central defenders - something he has been short of in recent weeks.

As such, it has led to Baleba being forced into deputising there, with Mats Wieffer being shifted to right-back. Tariq Lamptey also returns, and Kaoru Mitoma is in contention to start.

In attack, Joao Pedro is back from a three-game ban after his dismissal in the 4-2 defeat at Brentford.

Predicted Liverpool XI (4-2-3-1) : Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz
