Antonio Conte’s return will not solve Juventus problems

Antonio Conte has emerged as a popular choice among Juventus supporters who believe the club needs a different manager to overcome its current struggles. Many fans regard the Italian as the ideal candidate to restore the Bianconeri to their former standards, given his successful history with the club and his achievements elsewhere.

Conte has been away from management since leaving Napoli at the end of last season. During his time with the Partenopei, he guided them to the Scudetto, further demonstrating his ability to build competitive teams and deliver major honours. He subsequently indicated that he wanted to take a break from coaching.

Conte linked with a possible Juventus return

With several major clubs facing difficulties, speculation about Conte’s return to management has continued. He recently dismissed rumours linking him with Manchester United, leaving questions about where he might work next if he decides to return to the dugout.

Juventus supporters who want him back have plenty of reasons to point to his previous success. His first spell in Turin was highly successful, and he later won league titles with other Italian clubs before leading Chelsea to the Premier League crown.

Conte is known for demanding high standards, intense training and instilling a winning mentality in his players. Those qualities could appeal to Juventus as they seek to improve their performances and return to competing consistently for major trophies.

However, bringing back a familiar and successful manager would not necessarily resolve every problem affecting the club. Juventus must also consider the quality and balance of their squad, as well as the wider challenges that have contributed to their disappointing results.

Borriello questions whether Conte would be enough

Former striker Marco Borriello believes Conte’s qualities are undeniable but does not consider Luciano Spalletti the main reason for Juventus’ difficulties. Speaking via Calciomercato, he explained:

“I’m a huge fan of Antonio, he’s a winner and I’ve felt his strength firsthand: he conveys an incredible mentality to his players. But I don’t think Spalletti is Juventus’ problem and consequently I don’t think Conte would be enough to allow Juventus to return to the top spot. We’re talking about great coaches: Luciano and Antonio are different, but on a technical-tactical level they are both phenomenal. Conte would report Juve’s DNA and work like a madman, but I’m not convinced that just that would be enough to win.”

Borriello’s comments suggest that changing managers alone may not be sufficient to restore Juventus to the summit of Italian football. While Conte could bring intensity and a strong winning mentality, the club would still need to address its broader issues if it hopes to return to the top.
