Tevez 'wanted to kill' Neville after acrimonious Man Utd exit

Carlos Tevez has confessed he wanted to go after Gary Neville once he was at Manchester City following comments made by his former captain.
Tevez made a seismic move in 2009 when he decided to go from Manchester United to their local rivals, who had just been backed by their Abu Dhabi millions and were looking to challenge the established order.
City's capture of Tevez was huge given the quality he had and the success he'd enjoyed at Old Trafford, where he won several Premier League titles and the Champions League.
A row over a new contract saw Tevez head for pastures new, and he didn't go far, with Neville accusing Tevez of disrespecting Sir Alex Ferguson. But the Argentine maintained that Neville commented without fully understanding the situation - which left a sour taste.

Ferdinand stated on his YouTube channel: “When I played against you, you wanted to kill Gary Neville.” Tevez smirked and said: “Gary, he said that I didn’t respect Ferguson. He didn’t understand me. He didn’t understand the situation.”
Neville's frustration remains and he accused Tevez of downing tools on Sky Sports several years ago, which led to a live feud between him and Kia Joorabchian, who was Tevez's agent at the time and wanted to defend his player.
The legendary United right-back has also said on his switch: "I couldn't understand how he would want to engineer a move to your closest rivals. City were building a project at the time but they weren't anywhere near where we were. I couldn't understand it, the lack of loyalty. You come to United you embed yourself in the team and you wed yourself to the club. You can't go and play for them, if we still want you, you can't play for them."

Tevez's anger stemmed from an apparent promise from the Ferguson, who maintained United would sign him once his two-year loan ended, but that never came to pass.
The former striker, who scored 84 times in the Premier League for three different clubs, said: “I think that Ferguson had, from the day we talked, up to six months to keep his word. And he didn’t. On the contrary, he started leaving me on the bench."
Tevez would score three times in a two-legged cup semi-final against United in his debut year for City, but ended up on the losing side. Despite a public fallout with Roberto Mancini and months away from the club, he would return and contribute to their Premier League success of 2012.
