Mikel Arteta has provided a promising triple boost with regards to player fitness, as he prepares to take on Sunderland AFC in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Gunners will hope to learn from last season's mistakes at the Stadium of Light, that encounter ending in a 2-2 draw thanks to Brian Brobbey's late heroics.

Unbeaten this season thus far, Arsenal head into the 8pm kick-off in flying form, having enjoyed wins over Coventry City, Aston Villa and Chelsea in their opening three matches.

And now, Mikel Arteta has given a refreshing update on player fitness ahead of this weekend's clash on the banks of the River Wear, with three players who harboured concerns potentially available for selection.

Ben White

Speaking during Friday's press conference, Arteta explained that Ben White is "fine" despite the full-back seemingly harbouring a knock in the aftermath of Wednesday's 1-0 win over Napoli in the Champions League.

The 28-year-old was spotted walking unnaturally after the match, having been substituted for Martin Zubimendi with less than 10 minutes to play.

However, Arteta has now explained that White will be available for selection this weekend, much to the delight of Arsenal fans.

Potential return date: Saturday, September 12 vs Sunderland (A)

Cristhian Mosquera

Cristhian Mosquera has been out of action for two games since picking up a muscular issue against Aston Villa at the turn of the month.

However, a return for the Spanish centre-half could be on the horizon this weekend.

Speaking about Mosquera, Arteta said: "He's doing really well, let's see if he can get this game or the next one."

Jurrien Timber

Jurrien Timber is yet to play a part in Arteta's first-team this season as a result of a lenghty groin injury.

However, having since returned to training, his head coach is confident that a return isn't too far away.

Arteta said: "Let's see, we have another training session. He looks in good shape."

William Saliba

William Saliba is still on the road to recovery after a back issue flared up at the World Cup this summer, while the centre-half was representing France.

While he has made positive progress in his rehabilitation, Saliba is not expected to return to the fold until a little later this year.

Potential return date: Mid to late November
