Christos Tzolis appears likely to be involved at Anfield

Christos Tzolis has dropped a clear hint that he will be in the Arsenal squad to face Liverpool on Sunday.

The Greek has been sidelined since picking up a hamstring injury on international duty, which has now seen him miss six matches for the Gunners.

He has been pictured in training this week, though, and Mikel Arteta suggested he could be fit to feature at Anfield on Sunday.

But the player himself has now suggested he will be with the squad on Merseyside.

Eagle-eyed fans have noticed Tzolis has signed himself to his Fantasy Premier League team ahead of this gameweek.

Given FPL players do not receive points if one of the players in their team does not play, Tzolis’ move to add himself back into the team suggests he will be involved in some capacity.

Also telling is his decision to keep Riccardo Calafiori in the side. The Italian played only a minor role in last weekend’s defeat of Everton due to a knock, and was not involved in the subsequent Carabao Cup match at Fleetwood Town.

The FPL teams of Premier League players and their close circles are becoming reliable ways to get the jump on team news. News of Chelsea striker Joao Pedro’s latest injury first broke when several of his friends and family members removed him from their respective fantasy sides.

The availability of Tzolis and Calafiori comes as a huge boost for Arteta as he looks to bounce back from that ignominious defeat by the Cod Army.

He will, however, be without the services of Bukayo Saka as he pushes to recover from a thigh injury.
