Arsenal are set for a busy few weeks as they look to land their first new arrival of the summer. We have now entered the second week of the transfer window and it remains to be seen who the Gunners will unveil as their latest signing.
Mikel Arteta has vowed to pursue top quality additions , especially in forward areas, while Josh Kroenke is adamant the Premier League champions cannot become complacent. All of this points towards another summer of huge expenditure, potentially surpassing last year’s record £250million outlay.
A central midfielder, winger and a striker are understood to be top priorities. For now, the World Cup 2026 appears to have delayed the majority of clubs’ transfer activity.

Arsenal are reportedly using Declan Rice in an effort to convince Morgan Rogers to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium. Rogers is currently away with England for the World Cup, where Arsenal contingent Rice, Bukayo Saka , Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke are also present.
Arteta sees the Aston Villa midfielder as a priority signing and an upgrade on his existing options on the left flank. And The Daily Mail claims Rice in particular is using his close proximity to Rogers to influence his decision ahead of a potential summer transfer.
Unai Emery's side have made it clear Rogers is a key part of their squad ahead of a return to the Champions League . But it's claimed both Arsenal and Chelsea would be willing to discuss a deal in the region of £85m, with Villa needing to sell players in order to comply with financial regulations.
The report says Rogers is open to a move to the Emirates Stadium and will see what the Premier League champions can offer.

Newcastle were reportedly surprised by Tottenham ’s bid for Sandro Tonali, having previously only discussed his potential move to Arsenal or Manchester City this summer. The Magpies rejected an £80m offer from Spurs for their Italian star this week.
According to The Telegraph , a source said that "several clubs had expressed an interest in signing Tonali, but nobody had met their valuation". Spurs are said to be the first club to make a formal approach for the 26-year-old.
It comes weeks after Fabrizio Romano reported that Arsenal had made calls to assess Tonali’s availability. The central midfielder became a transfer target towards the end of the January window, when Arsenal were told of his interest in a move.
