Chelsea forward to miss Man Utd clash

Chelsea Women boss Sonia Bompastor has confirmed Melvine Malard will miss Sunday’s clash with former club Manchester United through injury.
The French forward picked up a knock in training last week and missed Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on the opening weekend of the WSL season.
“Unfortunately she won’t be able to return to Man United and play the game,” Bompastor said.
“She’s close to returning, but probably next weekend.”

Mayra Ramirez and Manaka Matsukubo will also remain unavailable, but Nathalie Bjorn has returned to full training and will travel with the squad.
“All of them won’t be available to play this game,” Bompastor added.
“Nat Bjorn is starting to train fully with the team so she will be travelling with us. We will see if she has minutes or not.”
