Fenerbahce ‘to spend big’ for Marcus Rashford with Leao and Sarr on shortlist
Fenerbahce are weighing a big-money push for Marcus Rashford after his Barcelona loan ended, with the Manchester United forward on a three-man shortlist alongside Rafael Leao and Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr. The Sun reports that the Istanbul club are prepared to spend heavily to lure him.
Rashford has returned to United after a successful spell at Barcelona. Head coach Hansi Flick said he would miss the England international after the Catalan side confirmed they could not make the move permanent.
Fenerbahce have already held talks with Leao, though no agreement has been reached. The club have also contacted Sarr’s representatives, and the Senegal winger shares an agent with Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.
Rashford’s camp have spoken with Fenerbahce as they assess a possible switch. The Istanbul giants want to back new manager Ismail Kartal and build a squad capable of competing with rivals Galatasaray.
After England finished third at the World Cup, Rashford will take his time before deciding on his next move.
Sarr impressed last season, scoring 21 goals and helping Palace win the UEFA Conference League title. He also struck four times at the last World Cup, becoming Senegal’s all-time top scorer across their World Cup appearances.
