HANDBAGS AND GLADRAGS! Man Utd vs Tottenham descends into chaos as huge clash ends with red card after headbutt

Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off after clashing heads with Luke Shaw as Manchester United vs Tottenham threatened to descend into chaos. With United 1-0 up, Bentancur reacted rashly after being shoved to the ground.
Shaw pushed over his rival after Bentancur had launched the ball away following some flying tackles. The Uruguay international quickly got back to his feet and moved his head towards the United defender.
The full-back hit the floor, dramatically clutching his face as bodies from both teams quickly came together. A melee ensued as Shaw and Jan Paul van Hecke came away with yellow cards in addition to Bentancur's red.
On commentary, Gary Neville was in disbelief over Bentancur's actions. "It's madness from Bentancur to get involved," he said.
"Lack of discipline is not what he needs. The scissors tackle, that's a yellow, Shaw pushes him and he comes up... He just gets up and leads towards him doesn't he? It'll always result in a red, especially after the challenge, it's just stupidity."

Former Tottenham star Chris Waddle believes that Shaw also should have been given his marching orders. Waddle said: "Luke Shaw has stepped out of line there and has sort of held his head as though he's been headbutted.
"If Rodrigo Bentancur's got a red for it, Luke Shaw should have a red too. You can't raise your hands. Where's VAR?"
Sutart Atwell's decision to send off Bentancur for a headbutt was checked by the video assistant referee. “I’ve got a red card for Bentancur for a headbutt," said Atwell.
VAR, Jarred Gillett, responded: “He puts his head into Shaw with some force – that’s violent conduct. He stands up and into Shaw and there’s a movement of the head”.
