Jangoo, Wickham soften blow of Taskin's early strikes

West Indies 86 for 3 (Jangoo 32*, Wickham 27*, Taskin 2-36) v Bangladesh
Bangladesh's pace bowlers took advantage of Sylhet's early movement in the first hour against West Indies. After losing three wickets, the visitors fought back to finish at 86 for 3 at lunch, mainly through Amir Jangoo and debutant Kevin Wickham.
The pair added 59 runs for the unbroken fourth wicket, with Jangoo unbeaten on 32 and Wickham on 27.
Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud gave Bangladesh a strong start by creating several chances with the new ball. In the second over at second slip, Shadman Islam dropped Joshua Da Silva when he hadn't opened his account. King struck boundaries off both bowlers on either side of the wicket, before Taskin blew one through him, flattening his middle and leg stump.
Mahmud kept Kavem Hodge guessing in the sixth over, ultimately clipping his middle bail as the right-handed batter left the ball on length for the second time in the over. Taskin responded at the other end with more close calls, before getting one to nip back at Da Silva's front pad as he was left squared up in the ninth over. The makeshift opener made 12.
Jangoo wasted little time at the other end, hitting Mahmud for two fours in the over after Da Silva's departure. He drove the ball well through point and cover off Taskin, before Wickham finally opened up with a pull shot off Mahmud. He was lucky with a second four too, before his square cut boundary brought up fifty runs for the fourth wicket partnership.
Taskin was one of two changes in the Bangladesh side for the Sylhet Test, having replaced Shoriful Islam. Mushfiqur Rahim came in place of the injured Mominul Haque, from the Dhaka Test. West Indies needed two changes too, after John Campbell and Tagenarine Chanderpaul both has viral fever. Da Silva and Wickham are their replacements in the top-order.
