Leeds have paid tribute to a fan who sadly died after suffering a medical emergency in the stands during their game against Manchester United last month. Colin Westby, 68, was watching the Premier League clash which took place at Elland Road on Sunday, October 18 before being rushed to hospital.

Upon his arrival, Westby was placed medically induced coma. Leeds said in a statement that after a 'period of unresponsiveness', the decision was made to withdraw life support.

The club posted on their website: "Leeds United are heartbroken to learn of the passing of supporter Colin Westby at the age of 68. Colin was a long-standing Season Ticket Holder at the club, attending matches for over 50 years.

"We will pay tribute to Colin in the 68th minute of our next Premier League fixture with Tottenham Hotspur, on Saturday 7 November."

A statement at the time read: "The club is grateful for the rapid action of our stewards and medical support team and appreciates the many notes of interest and support that have been sent in the past 24 hours."

Tributes to Westby continue to flood in across social media. "Awful news, so sorry to hear," one Leeds fan posted on X. "Rest easy Colin, thoughts with his family and friends."

Another wrote: "Really sad, sending love strength and condolences to his family and friends and all those that tried to save him ALAW (All Leeds Aren't We)."

A former colleague of his said: "Thoughts and prayers to his family & friends. I worked with Colin for a good few years - enjoyed a pint and a football chat."

Leeds drew the match against Manchester United 1-1 thanks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin's equaliser in the second half. They currently sit 11th in the Premier League table, having picked up 11 points from their opening nine games. In their last match, Daniel Farke's side lost 1-0 away to Bournemouth.
