Manchester United's bid to land Crysencio Summerville has received a significant lift, with West Ham setting their sights on Leicester's Abdul Fatawu ahead of the new season. Both Summerville and Jarrod Bowen have attracted considerable attention following the Hammers' drop to the Championship .

While Bowen's future remains uncertain, United have been firmly linked with a move for Summerville. The Dutch winger was a standout performer in an otherwise disappointing West Ham side throughout 2025/26, contributing five goals and four assists - figures that could arguably have been far greater in a stronger outfit.

Consequently, several of Europe's biggest clubs are vying for his signature ahead of next season - among them United, AC Milan , PSG , Arsenal and Roma . However, the Red Devils face an additional hurdle beyond the reported £50million the Hammers are demanding to sanction his departure from east London.

The reason being that West Ham reportedly want to identify a fitting replacement before allowing him to leave. Step forward Fatawu.

With Leicester having suffered relegation to League One for the coming season, the Foxes may find it increasingly difficult to hold on to their brightest talents. As their current talisman, Fatawu looks set to be among the first through the exit door, with a host of more established clubs already circling.

While the 22-year-old Ghanaian remains tied to a contract until 2029, Leicester may be compelled to sanction a sale in order to stabilise their finances. Having recorded nine goals and eight assists during last season's run, any potential deal is unlikely to come at a bargain price.

Reports indicate that the Foxes would be prepared to entertain bids ranging between £15m and £20m in the coming months. Such a sum would be comfortably covered for West Ham through Summerville's sale to United, while also leaving sufficient funds to strengthen their squad further as they target an immediate return to the Premier League .

Similar to Summerville, Fatawu has also attracted attention from numerous clubs as a possible destination. Everton , RB Leipzig and Besiktas have all emerged as suitors recently, with each side competing in their respective top-flight divisions.

This development comes as Summerville is not the sole West Ham player United are pursuing this summer, with the club also moving to secure Mateus Fernandes from the London Stadium.

It has been reported that the Red Devils have reached agreement on personal terms with the 21-year-old midfielder, while the Hammers await confirmation of whether their £85m valuation will be met.

Should that fail to materialise, Tottenham Hotspur have also registered their interest, as they continue a significant squad rebuild designed to provide Roberto De Zerbi with optimal resources for next season.
