It’s safe to say teams are back in the swing of things. As the calendar turns from October to November, we’re entering the first full month of the season.

Star players have delivered. Unheralded players have surprised. And for general managers in

NBA Fantasy: Salary Cap Edition

, there are opportunities to maximize points.

Here’s what you need to know entering Week 3.

Last Week’s Story

The Memphis Grizzlies are the league’s last remaining undefeated team. Entering this week, they’re 6-0, boasting a better record than the defending NBA champions and projected title contenders alike. It’s been quite the start for the franchise.

Ty Jerome

leads them with an average of 43 fantasy points, though his production has tapered off with 29.5 fantasy points over his last two games compared to 53.3 fantasy points in his first three.

Cameron Boozer

and

Cedric Coward

have been solid with 42 and 31 fantasy points, respectively.

Fantasy general managers should feel encouraged by Boozer’s numbers especially, since he’s put up 40 or more fantasy points in four of six games as a rookie. He even had a triple-double in the Grizzlies’ win on Thursday over the Portland Trail Blazers (4-1) — someone worth watching.

Peak Performances

Another week, another dominant display by

Luka Dončić

. The six-time All-Star set a new personal best this season with 90 fantasy points for the Los Angeles Lakers (5-2) in their 131-125 victory over the Toronto Raptors (3-3) on Sunday. He piled up 45 points scored, 15 rebounds, six assists, one block and five steals, continuing to put up big numbers. Dončić has averaged a league-high 68 fantasy points and been worth every penny of his $21M salary.

Cooper Flagg

is also off to an excellent start — only a sophomore in the NBA. In the Dallas Mavericks’ (4-2) defeat, 113-109, of the Miami Heat (2-4) on Monday, the 6-foot-10 forward contributed 81 fantasy points. He had 29 points scored, six rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks and five steals in a true all-around effort. Flagg actually ranks above proven fantasy stars

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Jayson Tatum

with 57 fantasy points at this point.

Rounding out last week’s podium of top scorers is

Victor Wembanyama

. He was stellar once again on Saturday in a 121-111 triumph for the San Antonio Spurs (4-2) over the Minnesota Timberwolves (4-3). The reigning First Team All-NBA honoree tallied 79 fantasy points on 43 points scored, seven rebounds, four assists, six blocks and one steal. Wembanyama has scored 60-plus fantasy points in three straight games, bumping up his average to 61 this season.

Transaction Tips

Now that we’re a couple weeks into the new season, some of the most valuable budget players have begun to separate from the pack. That makes this a good time for transactions to be made if the cheaper players on your roster have underwhelmed thus far.

There’s a lot to like about

Yaxel Lendeborg

’s early production. The Michigan product, who was selected No. 11 overall in this year’s draft, has had an immediate impact for the Golden State Warriors (4-3). He costs just $7.7M but has scored 40 or more fantasy points in five of seven games played. After scoring just seven fantasy points against the Lakers on Friday, he went off, tallying 56 against the LA Clippers (1-5) in his next game two days later.

Though not as much of a bargain,

Davion Mitchell

is worth taking a look at, purely because he’s been the model of consistency. The sixth-year guard has scored between 34 and 46 fantasy points in all six of Miami’s games so far. He’s had four double-doubles already compared to five double-doubles in all of last season. He can be added to your roster for $9.5M. A reliable source of points is always good to have at your disposal in fantasy.
