Pedro Neto signs mammoth new Chelsea contract as transfer speculation put to bed

Pedro Neto has signed a new long-term contract with Chelsea, despite rumours that the Portuguese winger was looking for a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer

Pedro Neto has signed a new contract with Chelsea which will see him through until 2032.

A statement released by the club on Friday afternoon read: "Chelsea is delighted to announce that Pedro Neto has signed a new contract until 2032.

"The Portugal international arrived at Stamford Bridge two years ago and has since made 108 appearances for the Blues. In that time his tally for goals and assists is 40 for the club.

"Neto played a crucial part in our UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup victories in 2025, scoring three times in the latter competition as we triumphed on the global stage.

"This season Neto, 26, already has two goals to his name, including that brilliant strike on Wednesday which completed our rapid comeback against Leeds in the Carabao Cup."

Speaking about the new deal, Neto said: "It’s an unbelievable moment. From when I arrived, I have always felt like the people here helped me a lot.

"I feel like home here, I feel like I want to achieve more things here. I have had some good moments here as a group and as an individual, and now I want to have more of those moments.

"I’m really excited because I think we can achieve a lot of things together."

It comes as the 26-year-old forward was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with Neto now silencing speculation with regards to his future with the club.

Neto was linked with a number of clubs, including ex-Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca's Manchester City, but instead, opted to remain in west London and be part of Xabi Alonso's project.

That decision has seemingly paid dividends. Not only has the talent been rewarded with a lenghty new contract, but he has also enjoyed a bright start to the new season.

The versatile playmaker, who has been deployed at right wing-back as of late, found the scoresheet in Chelsea's 4-3 win over Brighton at the turn of September, before enjoying another goal in the club's EFL Cup clash with Leeds United earlier this week.

Neto will be expecting more of the same this weekend, as Chelsea play host to a newly-promoted Hull City. The two teams go up against one another at 3pm on Saturday.
