Tottenhams worst-ever Premier League season confirmed
Tottenham have hit a grim milestone, slumping to a record 20th league defeat in what's now officially their worst-ever Premier League season.
Eberechi Eze struck twice for Crystal Palace to earn the FA Cup finalists a 2-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, leaving Spurs stuck in 17th place with their poor domestic form showing no signs of improvement.
It’s a new low for Tottenham, who have now suffered more defeats than in any other Premier League campaign, having previously lost 19 games in both 1993-94 and 2003-04.
To pile on the misery, West Ham ’s win at Old Trafford saw Spurs drop further down the table. While their Premier League status for next season is already secure, it’s still a bruising blow to their pride.
One silver lining is their upcoming Europa League final against Manchester United on 21 May, after easing past Bodo /Glimt 5-1 on aggregate last Thursday.
