Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd poised for £65m signing, Arsenal deal agreed, Liverpool medical

Hello and welcome to the Mirror's live transfer blog on Thursday, August 20.
It was a busy day yesterday with Arsenal and Manchester United both reportedly close to completing major transfers deals. The Gunners are on the verge of signing England international Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, while Michael Carrick's side are in talks about a £65m move for Carlos Baleba from Brighton.
There's plenty of other clubs expected to be active between now and the end of the window, with Liverpool still searching for their heir to Mohamed Salah, while Arsenal are on the lookout for a new left-winger.
Andoni Iraola's side have been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola while the Gunners continue to be linked with a move for Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.
We will be keeping you up to date on all the latest activity in the market as clubs continue their work in the summer transfer window ahead of the September 1 deadline.

Sky's Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle includes at least 215 live Premier League clashes across the 2026/27 season, with more than 1,500 games from the EFL and beyond, plus F1, golf and darts.
Manchester City are now considering making a move for Roma midfielder Manu Kone, according to the Daily Mail.

Italian outlet Tuttosport has claimed Arsenal may be willing to pay £86m to sign Juventus attacking midfielder Kenan Yildiz. The Turkish international is highly rated by Mikel Arteta.

Left-back will be the new priority area for Manchester United. Their midfield overhaul now looks complete with Carlos Beleba joining Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos in the middle of the park.

The Athletic claims Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Manchester City for both Savinho and Omar Marmoush. The report claims deals for both players have not yet been agreed, though talks are advancing.
Roberto De Zerbi's side have spent £229.5million so far this summer, strengthening their squad in an attempt to avoid another relegation battle, now turning their attention to forward areas of the pitch.

Fabrizio Romano claims Crystal Palace have rejected an initial approach from Galatasaray for winger Ismaila Sarr.
The Eagles are intent on keeping the Senegal international unless a 'huge, really huge proposal comes to the table.'
Manchester United are 'closing in' on a deal for Brighton star Carlos Baleba as their midfield rebuild continues.
The Red Devils have already signed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos from Aston Villa and Chelsea respectively. But boss Michael Carrick remained keen on a third addition following the departure of Casemiro at the end of his contract.
It appears that his wish is finally set to be granted. According to The Athletic, United are close to agreeing a deal to sign Brighton star Baleba, having made a £60m bid for the Cameroonian, with £5m worth of add-ons.
That is expected to fall below the Seagulls' valuation, albeit amicable talks remain ongoing between the two clubs, with an agreement expected to be found.
According to reports in Italy, Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is set to land in Italy today for a medical ahead of a move to Inter Milan.
The Reds midfielder has agreed a five-year contract with the Serie A side, according to Gianluca Dimarzio. Inter have submitted an offer in the region of £30m for the homegrown star and it's expected he'll move to the San Siro.
Jones is currently in the final year of his Liverpool contract and there's been no movement on that front.

Barcelona have reportedly ended their pursuit of Julian Alvarez this summer with Atletico's hardline stance forcing sporting director Deco into alternative options.
That's according to ESPN, who relay the sporting director's comments about the club's quest to replace Roberto Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.
Deco said: "We've lost two players in attack, Lewy and Ferran. I think we have solutions to cover Ferran with the signings we have made. Replacing Robert is much more difficult. It's really tough to replace a player like him.
Arsenal are close to striking a deal with Aston Villa to sign Ezri Konsa. The Gunners are in the market for a right-sided defender and Konsa, 28, is their preferred target. Both William Saliba and Jurrien Timber will miss the start of the Premier League season with long-term injuries, reducing Mikel Arteta's options. Konsa's ability to play at centre-back as well as right-back appeals to Arteta, who appreciates versatile defenders.
The Athletic report that although the deal isn't done, talks are now advancing. There has been dialogue at ownership level to reduce gap in valuations.
Arsenal have been willing to pay £40million for Konsa, with Villa rating him closer to £60m. Meanwhile, personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
