Will Richarlison play for Tottenham in Carabao Cup as Roberto De Zerbi confirms decision

Roberto De Zerbi will not include wantaway striker Richarlison in his squad when Tottenham take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup third round on Tuesday.
The Brazilian striker is eligible to play in the competition despite being left out of Spurs’ Premier League squad earlier this month.
De Zerbi, though, has revealed that he will not include the forward for the trip to Anfield, even as Spurs desperately search for goals after successive goalless draws against Nottingham Forest and Everton.
“Richarlison, you already know everything, nothing has changed for the Carabao Cup or Premier League. The situation is the same (he will not be involved),” De Zerbi said on Monday.

Richarlison expressed his desire to leave the club during the summer transfer window and turned down a contract extension as he looked to force through a move away.
De Zerbi had been keen to keep Spurs’ top goalscorer from last season, but was clear that he would not stand in the way of any player who wanted to leave.
Both parties sought to facilitate an exit in the final days of the transfer window, but a move failed to materialise, leaving Richarlison in limbo and out of De Zerbi’s plans.
The 29-year-old was in attendance as Spurs were held to a 0-0 draw at home to his former club Everton over the weekend.
The north Londoners were in talks with Everton over a potential deal during the closing days of the Premier League transfer window, but the move broke down when Richarlison failed to agree personal terms.

Richarlison faced similar issues, first with Turkish club Trabzonspor and then Brazilian side Vasco Da Gama, and De Zerbi said there was nothing more he could do, having tried unsuccessfully to get Richarlison to stay.
“I said last press conference, I know what happened in the last 45 days. It's not right if I explain. It's not my behaviour,” De Zerbi continued.
“It is the relationship and the problem is with the player and the club. I spoke with him many times to convince him to stay and he didn't want to. I can't go [about] every day to pray for him to stay.”
