Leeds United injuries and transfers as Daniel Farke holds Nottingham Forest press conference

Daniel Farke holds his first Leeds United press conference of the 2026/27 Premier League season this afternoon, two days before Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest. Injuries and late-window business are expected to top the agenda.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Nico Elvedi signed a three-year deal on Wednesday and the briefing should clarify whether he is available at Forest. The 29-year-old previously spent one season under Farke at Monchengladbach.

Elvedi could be one of four debutants at the City Ground, with Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic and James Trafford all likely to start. Off the pitch, Leeds announced a new four-year contract for Joe Rodon on Wednesday evening, while Jayden Bogle agreed terms until 2030 earlier this morning.

There are 12 days left to complete business, with reinforcements still required at striker, left wing and in goal. Farke is expected to be quizzed on plans up to one September, although how much he reveals remains to be seen.

Gabriel Gudmundsson, Willy Gnonto and Ilia Gruev missed last weekend’s final pre-season win over Augsburg. Gudmundsson is widely expected to miss out again this weekend, and updates on all three are anticipated today.

Forest’s new manager Oliver Glasner takes charge of his first competitive game on Saturday. Leeds, who opened last season with a 1-0 win against Everton and finished 14th, travel with optimism after an encouraging summer.

Farke is due to speak at half past one.
