Real Madrid star to return to XI for AEK Athens clash

A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is set to step back into a starting berth in the club’s next outing.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of José Mourinho that Vinícius Jr. has been selected to feature from the off against AEK Athens on Wednesday evening.

Winger Vinícius was for his part forced to watch on from home once more this past weekend, as Real Madrid made short work of Racing Santander in a La Liga clash. The Brazilian is currently in the thick of a four-match domestic ban.

Amid Vinícius’ absence, Yan Diomandé has stepped up in stellar fashion, with Los Blancos having not missed a step.

Speaking during an appearance in front of the media ahead of his side’s Champions League meeting with Greek outfit AEK Athens on Wednesday, José Mourinho was therefore drawn on his immediate plans for Vinícius.

And the Portuguese tactician went on to confirm:

“I can tell you that Viní Jr. will play tomorrow night.”
