Richarlison to seek Tottenham contract termination to sign for Vasco

According to Globo.com, Richarlison’s camp will file for termination of his Tottenham contract so he can join Vasco, after he was left out of the Premier League squad and made available to the under-21s.

His representatives argue Tottenham cannot exclude him from the first-team group and limit him to youth duty, and will take the case to court seeking rescission. He wants clearance to play for Vasco through December.

The move does not have to be completed by Friday. He could still sign for Vasco even if the termination lands after the window shuts, with eligibility tied to the date the notice is filed.

They view the situation as similar to Renan Lodi, who told a court he was unable to work after not being registered in the Saudi league, later securing a unilateral release before joining Atlético-MG.

A boyhood Vasco supporter, Richarlison agreed a loan on Tuesday, but a FIFA cap on such transfers initially scuppered talks. While he pursues termination, Pedrinho and the Rio club’s board continue to negotiate a permanent deal, though they accept it is difficult.

The forward has asked Tottenham to negotiate with Vasco and wants to stay there until December 2026. Tottenham are seeking more than 20 million pounds for a full transfer, a sum beyond Vasco at present.
