All you need to know as English football’s secondary club competition continues

The Carabao Cup fourth round draw takes place next week, with the potential of some blockbuster ties in store.

Once again, due to the scheduling of European fixtures this season, the third round ties are being played across two weeks, September 8/9 and 15/16/17, 2026.

Action begins on Tuesday night with Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Sunderland - competing in the Europa League - facing Lincoln, Middlesbrough and Hull City respectively at home.

Then on Wednesday, Chelsea and Leeds United renew a long-standing rivalry at Stamford Bridge.

The remaining Premier League teams competing in Europe this season will enter the competition over the next nine days, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Man City and Aston Villa all expected to progress.

When is the Carabao Cup draw?

The draw will take place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, following the conclusion of the Man Utd vs Brighton tie.

It is expected to start around 10.15pm BST.
