Yan Diomande has dealt a blow to Liverpool ’s transfer hopes by talking up a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The RB Leipzig winger was one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga last season with 12 goals and eight assists, and won the division’s Rookie of the Season award.
The 19-year-old, who joined RB Leipzig last year in a €20 million (£17.4m) deal from Spanish side Leganes, is currently with the Ivory Coast national side as they prepare for their World Cup campaign.
Liverpool have made Diomande one of their top targets to replace Mohamed Salah this summer, but the winger has also attracted interest from PSG .

Speaking at a press conference with the Ivory Coast national team, Diomande made it clear that he would welcome a move to PSG.

‘Paris Saint-Germain is a team I’ve loved since I was little,’ Diomande said.
‘My father is a Paris Saint-Germain supporter, it’s a team I admire as a football fan.’
In a separate interview with Telefoot, Diomande added: ‘It would be a pleasure for me to come and play here with one of the biggest clubs.
‘It’s always a pleasure to come here because, already, with French, I think the adaptation won’t be difficult. But why not.’
When asked about his future, Diomande insisted his full focus is on Ivory Coast’s World Cup campaign where they face Germany , Curacao and Ecuador in Group E.
‘I don’t think I’m thinking about the future or anything else,’ Diomande said.
‘As I said, I’m focused on the World Cup. After that, what will happen is that the clubs will work things out amongst themselves, and we’ll see what happens next.’
