Leeds pair out of Forest opener, Nico Elvedi in contention
Leeds United start the Premier League season at Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon with almost a full squad, with only two players missing.
As reported by Leeds Live, Daniel Farke said Willy Gnonto will miss out with a hamstring injury and Gabriel Gudmundsson is also unavailable. He added he hopes to have Gnonto back in team training soon, but confirmed both will miss the first match, with everyone else available at present.
All the new signings are in contention, including Nico Elvedi, who trained with the squad for the first time yesterday and could feature at the City Ground.
A new-look side is expected, with goalkeeper James Trafford and winger Harry Wilson looking nailed on to start. Elvedi and Tarik Muharemovic are also pushing for a place in the starting line-up.
Farke praised Elvedi’s pedigree, highlighting a career of 11 years with one club and a reputation as a Gladbach club legend. He said the defender has arrived with fresh energy and is ready for the challenge.
